Carol Mercer

Carol Mercer, 91, of Carson City died March 31, 2005, at her home.

At her request, no service will be held. She requested family and friends raise a glass of beer and toast what was mostly a beautiful life.

Mrs. Mercer was born May 26, 1913, in Volcano, Calif., to Jane Fitzgerald.

She married Frank Mercer, who preceded her in death in 1948.

She lived most of her life at Lake Tahoe, raising her children alone at Crystal Bay.

Mrs. Mercer loved life and her family. She worked at North Lake Tahoe casinos for several decades, including as a cashier and credit manager at the Cal Neva.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bob.

Among her survivors are her daughters Dorothy Mercer and Ella Ma Priess; grandchildren Jon Porter and Franki Peck and her husband, Jerry; and great-grandchildren Sean and Carrie Peck.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
