In April of 1989, the skeletal remains of an unidentified male were discovered in the wooded area west of the Heavenly Ski Resort in Stateline. It was estimated he had died within the preceding six months.

It is believed the remains are those of a white male, age 24 to 34. Clothing discovered with the remains were blue Wrangler brand corduroy pants with a waist size of 30, maroon Brute brand underwear, red wool socks and a blue jacket. Also nearby was a pair of Dakis brand gold-frame prescription glasses with thick lenses.

In September 2004, the remains were sent to the Louisiana State University, where a clay facial reconstruction examination was performed.
