Nicole Greer pitched her second perfect game of the season as the Dayton High softball team swept North Tahoe in Northern 3A action.
Greer pitched her perfect game in a 10-0 win in the opener, striking out 10 over five innings. Dayton (4-6, 3-6) won the nightcap 15-1.
In the opener, Sierra Barnwell, Camara Ramirez and Brittany Hill and had a hit and a run, Greer doubled and scored a run, Sara Simmons went 1-for-2 with two RBI, Gina Henderson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs and Katy Cross went 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In the nightcap, Greer struck out five over the first two innings. Ramirez pitched the last three innings for the win, striking out three.
Barnwell went 1-for-3 with three runs, Hill was 2-for-4 with four runs, Greer went 1-for-3 with an RBi and a run, Simmons was 1-for-3 with two runs, Lauren Fisher went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run, Toni May went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Cross was 1-forf-2 with a run, Amanda Brandenburg went 1-for-2 with two runs and Ramirez had a hit and two RBI. Dayton also swept the junior varsity games, winning 8-0 and 12-0.
WILCKS SHINES
Douglas High graduate Kaycee Wilcks, a freshman, went 2-for-3 for the University of Nevada softball team in the opening game of a doubleheader as the Wolf Pack went on to sweep Utah Valley State. Nevada (17-21) won the opener 10-0 and the nightcap 12-3.
