John 'Jack' Davin

A celebration of life for John "Jack" Davin, 83, a Carson City resident for the past 18 years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Davin died Aug. 1, 2005, in Reno.

He was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Lovelock, to John P. and Delia Davin.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Lovelock.

Mr. Davin was a business owner in Lovelock for many years.

He was a tech sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a Mason, Shriner and a Jester. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the hills. He was an Episcopalian.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie L. Hecathorn in 2002.

Among his survivors are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy of Carson City; son, Richard "Dick" Canatsey of Reno; daughter, Dr. Patricia Davin of Carson City; grandchildren Richard "Rick" Canatsey, Robert Canatsey and Christy Canatsey-Malarchuk; and great-grandchildren Dallyn Malarchuk and Brandon Dalton.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
