Gov. Guinn appoints former staff members to commissions

Gov. Kenny Guinn has named his former chief of staff to the Colorado River Commission.

Marybel Batjer was Guinn's chief of staff until she took a job as head of California Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger's cabinet. She left that job to take a position with Harrah's.

He also named another former staff member, Brian Catlett, to the National & Community Service Commission in Las Vegas.

In addition, Guinn named former Assemblyman Jason Geddes to the Renewable Energy Task Force. Geddes, who represented Reno for one term in the lower house, is environmental affairs manager at the University of Nevada, Reno.
