The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) will conduct a three-day, introduction to fly fishing clinic on Friday-Saturday-Sunday (Aug. 12-13-14).
The class is designed for entry level fly anglers. It is free and is limited to the first 20 persons, who sign up.
NDOW instructors will demonstrate various techniques for fishing moving waters and still waters.
The three sessions will be held at the Verdi Community Library and Wildlife Education Center at 270 Bridge St. in Verdi (the building is adjacent to the Verdi Elementary School grounds).
The three class sessions are:
Friday evening: 6-8 p.m.
Both Saturday and Sunday: From 8 a.m. until noon.
There is a minimum age of 10 to attend the clinic, and a parent or guardian must accompany all children.
A fishing license is required for those who are 12 years of age or older.
Participants are requested to provide their own tackle.
A limited number of fly rods are available on a first-come, first-served basis for use by those who do not have their own equipment.
