Luther J. Martin

A memorial service for Luther J. Martin, 74, of Gardnerville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Mr. Martin died Aug. 10, 2005, in Gardnerville. He was born July 24, 1931, in Susanville, Calif., to Luke Hugh and Margaret Martin.

Mr. Martin was a 49-year resident of Douglas County.

Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and horses.

Among his survivors are his son James P. of Hotchkiss, Colo.; daughters Sunny J. Martin of Trego, Mont., Kelley S. Martin of Olathe, Colo., and Kim L. Baker of Bloomington, Calif.; one brother; two sisters, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
