Authorities are looking for a Nevada inmate who escaped by hiding on a delivery truck leaving a Carson City medium-security prison.

Jody K. Thompson, 25, is believed to have concealed himself on a prison industries vehicle carrying items from Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City to the Lovelock Prison.

"There were goods being transported and he went along for the ride," said prison spokesman Fritz Schlottman.

He was last seen in Fallon, Schlottman said.

Thompson was convicted in Nye County and sentenced on a total of 12 counts of robbery, 12 deadly weapon enhancements, three charges of burglary and three of grand larceny.

Thompson is described as a white male, 5-feet 11-inches tall and 135 pounds. He has blond hair and hazel eyes, tattoos of an eagle on his back, a bird on his leg and "CJ" on his shoulder.

Schlottman said Thompson has contacts in Las Vegas and in California.

He was reported missing at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
