Lyon County investigators are seeking help in locating a man believed to be traveling with a former Fernley woman and the son she is accused of kidnapping.
Sgt. John Arndell said investigators hope to speak with Steven Streight, 53, believed to be the boyfriend of Karen O'Grady.
O'Grady, 49, is accused of kidnapping her son, Erik Buran, 4, on April 25.
Just before the abduction, Erik's father, Robert, had filed for sole custody of his son and had lodged a complaint with Child Protective Services alleging Streight physically abused Erik. Since then, a Reno judge awarded the father sole custody.
Arndell said there is no arrest warrant for Streight, but they believe he can lead police to O'Grady and the boy.
Streight contacted a family member and told that person he is working on a horse ranch in Texas, Arndell said. He is described as 5-feet 9-inches tall with hazel eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Streight, O'Grady or Erik is asked to call the Lyon County Sheriff's Department at 577-5026.
