Thomas "Norm" Wilkinson, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 28 years, died Aug. 27, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
He was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Boyle Heights, Calif., to William H. and Annie Poole Wilkinson.
He married Mildred Ann North on Sept. 14, 1967, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in El Segundo, Calif.
After a 36-year career with General Motors Acceptance Corp., he retired as accounting manager of the Inglewood, Calif., branch.
Mr. Wilkinson was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion.
A first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force, he served in active duty from 1944-46. He was a B-17 bomber pilot in the European Theater during World War II and flew more than 30 missions. He received the World War II Victory Medal-Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill.
Among his survivors are his wife; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Roxanne Wilkinson and daughter Robin L. Veltre, all of Yorba Linda, Calif., daughter and son-in-law Patty and Dan Flanders of Yucaipa, Calif.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law ,Norma I. Wilkinson of Hesperia, Calif.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
