The magnitude of the disaster left by Hurricane Katrina keeps getting bigger. Now it looks like there will be a very large number of people who will need help for many weeks or even months.
One way everyone can help is to send donations to the American Red Cross, since this event is likely to severely tax their finances. Go to www.redcross.org to make your donation.
There are other agencies that can help out, too. If you know of any, please leave info in the comments.
Update: Another organization that needs donations is the Salvation Army. You can reach them at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
