Carson Karters do well at Red Bluff

With the Thanksgiving break over, a contingent of Northern Nevada Outlaw Kart drivers headed over the hill for the sixth race in the Red Bluff winter series last Saturday.

The Box Stock crowd had the best luck, with all four runners in that division making the A main. Mason Millard had the best finish in second, followed by Zachary Heinz in fourth, Kellcy Bell fifth, and Tanner Thorson eighth. Bell and Thorson won their respective heats, with Heinz taking a second and Millard a fourth in their heats.

Cameron Millard was the only Carson runner in the intermediate division, qualifying second fastest and taking fifth in the trophy dash. After finishing sixth in his heat he had to run the B main. His third-place finish got him a transfer to the A main, where he came home eighth.

Mackena Bell and Daniel Thorson represented Carson Country in the Intermediate Open division. Bell, back from the Lyn St. James academy in Phoenix, qualified 10th, took third in her heat, and wound up 11th in the A main. Thorson qualified 13th, ran seventh in his heat, but didn't transfer out of the B main, finishing 10th.

Three intrepid local racers took to the track in the Open division, but the competition was pretty fierce. Christian Steele was the only one of the trio to transfer out of the D main, taking a ninth place in the C main. He, Chris Rytting, and Dave Sciarroni all finished seventh in their respective heats. Sciarroni ran eighth in the D main and Rytting ended up 12th. No Beginner Box division racers were entered.
