A memorial service for Nick DiSalvo, 84, a Gardnerville resident for the past 25 years, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Mr. DiSalvo died Dec. 9, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1921, in San Jose, Calif.
He graduated from San Jose High School and worked on the family ranch.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in San Jose.
Mr. DiSalvo enjoyed cooking and his family.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was part of the 3442 Ordnance Medium Automotive Maintenance Co.
He was preceded in death by his brother Vince.
Among his survivors are his wife of 52 years, Nancy of Gardnerville; children Roxanne and husband Oliver Manfredi of Gardnerville, Dorian and husband Jon DelConte of San Jose, Terri DiSalvo of San Jose, Sal DiSalvo of Gardnerville and Mark and wife Tareasa of Gardnerville; sister, Theresa Mancinco; brothers Sal and Benny; grandchildren Jana Tejeda, Brian Manfredi, Jon DelConte, Reese Rotsaert and Nicholas DiSalvo; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
