Martha Louise Harker Badders, 85, a Carson City resident for the past six years, died Dec. 14, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ernest and Maude Barnett Harker.

She graduated from Fremont High School in Oakland, Calif.

She married Ralph H. Badders on Oct. 5, 1941, in Carson City. They eloped and were married by Rev. R. Waters.

Mrs. Badders retired from Joseph Magnin of South Lake Tahoe after 20 years. She was a member of the PTA and various community volunteer groups. She was an Episcopalian.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, brother Ernest and sister Maude.

Among her survivors are her daughters Diana Weaver of Carson City and Suzanne Badders of Dayton; son Ralph of Stockton, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law James and Shirley Harker of Renton, Wash., and many extended family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City or to St. Mary's Foundation Hospice Fund, 520 W. Sixth St., Reno, NV 89503 or to a charity of choice.

A service will be at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
