A memorial service for Edgar T. Dutchy, 78, a lifetime Markleeville resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Walton's.
Mr. Dutchy died Dec. 27, 2005, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 10, 1927, in California to Emery and Mattie Dutchy.
He married Evelyn Frederickson on Jan. 1, 1972, in Carson City.
Mr. Dutchy was a member of the Operating Engineers local. He retired as supervisor of highway maintenance for Alpine County, for which he worked for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, and working on his car. He was a delegate for the Intertribal Council of California and the Woodfords Community Council.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son Lou Sr.
Among his survivors are his wife of Markleeville; children Dale and wife Joanie, Arlen, Beverly Caldara, Darinda Caldara, Delores Roberts, Marilyn Payne and Cheryl Dutchy, all of Hung-A-Lel-Ti, Calif., and Miranda Esparza and Janelle Rodriguez, both of Dresslerville; stepchildren Buck Turechek of Grants Pass, Ore., Lonnie Sutter of Los Angeles, Alma Curtis of Henderson and Louanna Dukes of Sacramento; 36 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Inurnment will be at the Woodfords Cemetery.
