All those who have tried to patronize Arby's Restaurant on South Carson Street have been left unassisted at the drive-through, or blocked by a strategically placed truck in the parking lot.

Daryl Reedy, Arby's co-owner, said the 1122 S. Carson St. restaurant closed Monday and will reopen by Jan. 10. The restaurant is undergoing a $200,000 interior and exterior remodel.

"We have a car blocking the front driveway, and so far I've seen five customers trying to drive around it," Reedy said Wednesday afternoon. "We have a banner on the front of the building saying we're closed, but they're determined to come to Arby's."

The owner said he has tried to get a fence up in front of the drive-through, but that has been delayed, possibly due to bad weather.

The remodel will make the building look more modern, Reedy said, with a new roof and more windows. The restaurant is also receiving $40,000 in new equipment.

There is an Arby's Restaurant in Gardnerville at 1365 Highway 395 S. beside Raley's, and one under construction in Minden. There are six other restaurants in the Reno area.
