Manager chosen for new Carson City Greater Nevada Credit Union branch

Greater Nevada Credit Union recently selected a Genoa woman to head its new 4,500-square-foot branch office on North Carson Street, which is scheduled to open by the summer.

Rosemary Krystofiak said she is looking forward to providing financial services at the new North Carson City location.

"I am so passionate about opening this new branch," Krystofiak said Wednesday. "I've hired and developed staff, and we're becoming a dynamic team. I'm thrilled about the location. The north end of Carson City is experiencing tremendous growth. I can't wait to offer Greater Nevada products and services to people in that area."

Krystofiak has worked in the financial services industry since 1971 and has lived in the area for more than 30 years. She is also an active member of the Carson City of Chamber of Commerce.

Kerstin Plemel, credit union spokeswoman, said construction of the full-service financial office at 4131 N. Carson St. was slowed down a bit by the weather, but it's still on schedule. It is located on two acres, adjacent to the Holiday Inn Express, that the credit union bought in 2004. The branch office will have two drive-up automated teller machines and two drive-up tellers. This is the credit union's third full-service Carson City branch.

Branch expansion plans do not stop in Carson City.

"We do have some property in Dayton, so that's the next place we're looking to put a branch," Plemel said.

Most of the work on Carson City's new Greater Nevada Credit Union was done by Reno companies, such as Architects Plus and SMC Construction.

The interior and exterior design was done by Emick, Howard and Siebert Inc. of Seattle. The Los Angeles-based management firm Jones, Lang Lasalle is also working on the project.

"Greater Nevada's membership keeps growing, and this branch will enable us to continue providing a high level of service," said Wally Murray, credit union president and CEO. "We're especially pleased about the location, which will provide easy access and better convenience and serve the rising consumer needs in north Carson."

Greater Nevada Credit Union has more than 48,000 members, $433 million in assets and eight branches. Residents of 10 Northern Nevada counties, including Carson City, Dayton and Douglas County, are eligible to join the credit union.
