Gamblers wagered more than $90.7 million on this year's Superbowl.
Gaming Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander said unaudited figures from the 173 licensed sports books shows they won $15.4 million on those wagers -- a win percentage of 17 percent.
That is the highest amount of money wagered on the Superbowl in at least the past 10 years, according to control board records. It is nearly $10 million more than the $81.2 million wagered last year and a $3 million improvement in total win for the books.
Overall, the 17 percent win percentage is also the best performance by the books in the past 10 years. The money won by the books varies widely in different years. It was just $472,033 in 1998 and as low as $5.2 million just two years ago.
