A memorial service for Wallace G. Saunders, 97, a Carson City resident for the last eight months, will be Saturday at the Salt Lake Foothill Second Ward in Salt Lake City.
Mr. Saunders died Feb. 3, 2005, at home. He was born Nov. 6, 1907, in Mammoth, Utah, to Charles Owen and Florence Kershaw Saunders.
Prior to moving to Carson City he lived in Salt Lake City and California.
He married Zola Mitchell in 1930. She preceded him in death in 1982. He married Dorothy in November 1983.
Mr. Saunders was a retired pharmacist. He owned and managed three drug stores in California with Zola. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Dorothy served a mission for the church in England from 1986 to 1988. They also managed several rental properties.
Among his survivors are his wife, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Sara; son Gary; daughter Kathe Green; daughter and son-in-law Jo Ann and Mark Skousen; brother, Willard; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Carson City and Larkin's in Salt Lake.
