A service for Ronald James Malone, 89, a Carson City resident for the past 17 years, was Monday at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, Calif.
Mr. Malone died Feb. 8, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Canonsburg, Pa., to Robert Vance and Kate Hoch Malone.
He graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1933.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Vacaville, Calif.
He married Inez Clara Louise Carlson on May 29, 1941, in Reno.
Mr. Malone worked as an oil refinery pipefitter.
He was past master and Hiram Award recipient of the Pittsburgh, Calif. Masonic Lodge 429, Cub Scout master of Pack 33 and Boy Scout master in West Pittsburg, Calif., a member of the Methodist church and active in the Pittsburgh Demolay Chapter.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son, Carl of Los Angeles; son and daughter-in-law Charles and Lynn Malone of Carson City; sisters-in-law Florence Carlson of Apple Valley, Calif., and Mary Ellen Malone of Canonsburg, Pa.; brother, Robert of Seminole, Fla.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Mary's Hospice.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette are in charge of arrangements.
