A rockslide temporarily blocked the westbound lanes of Highway 50 about a mile east of Spooner Summit early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
No one was injured in the slide. Douglas County Sheriff's Department was deluged with several emergency calls from motorists around 6:30 a.m.
Traffic was diverted as crews from the Nevada Department of Transportation removed boulders to the side of the road, according to Scott McGruder, NDOT's public information officer.
The lanes opened about an hour later.
The wet weather has caused crews to be aware of the mountainsides while traveling or removing snow.
"This is the second one we've had in the Tahoe Basin that I know of in the last month," McGruder said. The other slide was between Crystal Bay and Incline Village.
