Christopher E. Tyndall III

A memorial service for Christopher E. Tyndall III, 68, a Glenwood, Wash., resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Glenwood School Gymnasium with the Rev. Sandy Strait officiating.

Mr. Tyndall died Feb. 20, 2005, in Yakima, Wash. He was born May 19, 1936, in Lapwai, Idaho, to Christopher Jr. and Dorothy Lyon Tyndall. He was a member of the Omaha Tribe in Macy, Neb.

He spent his early years in Owyhee and attended school in Carson City.

He married Mary Hernandez in 1958.

Mr. Tyndall worked at the Stewart Indian School until 1981 when he moved to Glenwood where he was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Yakima Tribe until his retirement last year.

He was a professional model builder of trains and boats. He served with the Glenwood Fire Department as assistant chief and was a member of the Yakima Warriors Association. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joann.

Among his survivors are his wife of Glenwood; daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and Steve Wilkin; daughter Cynthia Tyndall of Goldendale; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Jill of Salem, Ore., and Mike and Libby of Virginia Beach, Va.; stepmother, Patricia Tyndall of Carson City; stepbrothers Whitney Brown of Reno and Raymond Brown of San Francisco; grandchildren Christopher M., Rachel D., Kaylene E., Mia A. and Marquis S.; and many nieces and nephews.
