A service for John L. Clark, 66, of Midpines, Calif., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dayspring Church, 974 Tillman Lane, Gardnerville. A meal will be served at the church after the burial.
Mr. Clark died Feb. 23, 2005. He was born March 10, 1938, in Rico, Colo., to John "Tex" and Martha Ann Clark. He was raised in Gardnerville and spent his childhood in the Carson Valley.
He worked for the California State Highway Department, being relocated to Coulterville, Calif., then to Midpines. He retired from Caltrans.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Wanda Heathman.
Among his survivors are his wife, Melinda; sisters Elva Gorsuch and Idene Minchin; children Reynese Clark Fiske, Ernest Clark, Colette Clark, John Preston Clark and Danette Beavers; their mother, Josephine James; grandchildren Charise Jim, Armando Lamas, Troy, Travis and John Ray Clark and Antonio Long Wolfe; a great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
