Carolyn Elisabeth Jane "Betty" Stewart, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, died Dec. 30, 2004. She was born April 30, 1918, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Clarence and Sara Jane Anderson.
She moved to California when she was in her early 20s and lived in Southern California until 1989, when she moved to Carson City.
Mrs. Stewart was a bank teller, hairdresser and then a bookkeeper until her retirement at age 68.
She enjoyed reading, fishing and people.
Among her survivors are her sister, Helen of North Carolina; brother, Bob of Ottumwa; daughters Nancy Gard of Southern California and Lynne Cox of Carson City; grandchildren William Gard, Kathy Eder, Julie Gard, Michael Affrunti, Cheron Schoeppler, Nicole Heald and Shawn Cox; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in February. For information, call Lynne or Dave Cox at 882-6199.
