Gordon S. Rhodes, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 36 years, died Dec. 30, 2004, at home. He was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Oakland, Calif., to Glen Dunlop and Gladys Rhoda Burt Rhodes.
He graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, Calif.
He married Ganene Songster April 13, 1957, in Berkeley. She preceded him in death in 1971.
Mr. Rhodes was a bartender at Cactus Jack's for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received numerous medals, including a Bronze Star for valor.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Henry E. Jacobs in 1986.
Among his survivors are his son, Bradley L., son and daughter-in-law, Geoffrey G. and Kari R., and grandson, Cody G., all of Carson City.
At his request, no service will be held.
