A funeral for Ralph J. Jepsen, 83, a Gardnerville resident for the past 56 years, will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Jepsen died Jan, 15, 2005, in Gardnerville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Oakland, Calif., to Ralph W. and Marie K. Jepsen.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Oakland.
Mr. Jepsen worked at Bently as a machinist. He enjoyed operating his ham radio and doing art. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Amateur Ham Radio Association. He volunteered for the Gardnerville Fire Department and the Douglas County Jeep Posse.
He served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie May in 1993.
Among his survivors are his son, Mitch of Carson City; daughter Kathryn Jepsen of Overton; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Gary Stevens of Reno; sisters Shirley Ruedy, Doris Schneider and Frances Sheppard, all of Hayward, Calif.; brother, George of Laclede, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
