The engagement of Miss Jennie Jacobson to Mr. George Fay was announced. Miss Jacobson grew up in the Carson Valley. Mr. Fay is a young man of many good qualities, strictly honest in all his dealings and a friend of all who know him.

75 YEARS AGO

Honor Roll announced with the following pupils of Carson City elementary school having made an average of B-plus: 1st grade Marian Rabe, Robert Laxalt; 2nd grade Richard Jeppson, Paul Laxalt; 3rd grade Richard Allen, Charles Priest; 4th grade Betty Fodrin, Virginia Pozzi, Donald Dondero.

50 YEARS AGO

Mrs. Nelson Glover entertains at bridge Wednesday. Refreshments were served to the high scorer Mrs. Bob Davenport, second Mrs. Dan Murphy and Mrs. Mel Fodrin.

The Civil Air Patrol and Fallon Naval Air Station attempt to locate a light plane enroute to Carson City from California. A radar screen at the Fallon air station may help narrow the scope of the search.

10 YEARS AGO

A bill draft has been requested by Carson City Assemblyman Tom that will block the state from collecting sales tax on charities.
