A funeral for Raymond Brenner Jr., 78, a Gardnerville resident for the past 14 years, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Brenner died July 2, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Raymond H. and Helen Wentz Brenner.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in San Diego.
Mr. Brenner worked as a maintenance supervisor for the state of California. He was a member of American Legion Capitol Post 4, VFW Post 8486, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the USS Pensacola CA24 Association.
He served on the USS Pensacola CA24 during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca G., in March 1992.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Rebecca A. Brenner; son, Daniel R. Brenner, and grandchildren Christina, Austin, Kaitlyn and Brittany Brenner.
Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, Capitol Post 4, Carson City.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
