A service for Mario Vecchiarelli, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, will be Thursday at San Fernando Mission, San Fernando, Calif.
A Rosary will be today.
Mr. Vecchiarelli died July 11, 2005, in Burbank, Calif. He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Guardia Regia, Italy, to Cosmo and Maria Vecchiarelli.
He was educated in Italy.
He married Yolanda Vecchiarelli on Sept. 27, 1952, in New York.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Burbank.
Mr. Vecchiarelli was a cutlery grinder. He was a member of the Dayton Veterans Administration. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his family.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his brother Nick on July 9, 1933, in Dayton; and son Anthony on March 13, 1990 in Burbank.
Among his survivors are his wife; sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Kelly and James and Wendy, all of Burbank; son Frank of Carson City; sister Rose Denton of Carson City; brother Lee A. of Carson City; grandchildren Laura, Jason, Heather, Tyla and Alisa; and numerous extended- family members.
Burial will be at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery in California.
