Pharmacy target of vandals

The owner of a Carson City pharmacy is hoping someone will have information on who is responsible for two acts of vandalism on his west Carson City business.

Owner Mike Hautekeet said last week someone threw a rock through the window of Mike's Pharmacy, 1007 N. Curry St., and early Friday morning the same thing happened about 3 a.m.

Hautekeet said he's had damage to his windows before from BB guns or small rocks which could have been accidental, but this seems to be intentional.

"Those are huge rocks, they didn't get them around here," he said.

No entry was made into the business by the culprit, which Hautekeet attributes to his burglar alarm which sounded upon the breech.

He said he's not sure what the motive was - either the person wanted to just cause damage or was attempting a burglary.

Burglary would be a bad idea, he warned.

"That's playing with the big boys. The drugs in there are controlled, so federal charges could be filed against someone," he said.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department's nonemergency dispatch at 887-2008.
