A funeral Mass for Charles Stuart "Reno Stu" Carmichael, 79, a seven-year Carson City resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Carmichael died July 14, 2005, in Carson City. He was born on Sept. 4, 1925, to George A. and Frances Vucha Carmichael in Chicago.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

He was a source surveillance engineer in the aerospace industry for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and an active supporter of animal-rights groups.

Among his survivors are his sweetheart, Joan; sons Daniel and wife Roberta of Greenboro, N.C., Michael of Carson City, Chris and wife Linda of Auburn, Calif., Cameron and wife Dawn of South Lake Tahoe, John of Carson City, Jacque of Minden and James of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and grandchildren Christy, Daniel, Drew, Courtney, Kevin, Dayne, Ashlee, Taylor, Sarah, José and Laura.

Burial will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in Reno.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church Building Fund.
