Carson sixth in NIAA standings

The Carson High athletic program placed sixth for the 2004-2005 school year in the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association final Award of Excellence standings.


The Award of Excellence program measures schools' athletic programs in three areas: Competition in all NIAA-sanctioned sports throughout the entire school year; academics; and citizenship.


On the 4A level, Carson finished sixth with 2,885 points. Palo Verde won the Award of Excellence with 3,695 points. Palo Verde was followed by Galena (3,375), Coronado (3,203), Reno High (3,125) and Centennial (3,061).
