This is a final reminder that Saturday, June 11, is Free Fishing Day in both Nevada and California.
You will be able to fish, without a fishing license, anywhere you desire in either state or even in both states on that day.
Fishing will be free but you will need to abide by all of the regular rules and regulations that govern whatever water(s) you will be fishing.
To further insure that your free fishing day will be a memorable experience, the California Department of Fish and Game, various California Counties and the Nevada Division of Wildlife have planted thousands of rainbow trout in many of their waters.
Some of the more popular destinations in this general area will be:
Nevada:
The Carson River, east of Carson City.
The East Carson River in Douglas County.
The Truckee River in Washoe County.
Lahontan Reservoir in Churchill and Lyon Counties.
Topaz Lake and Topaz Canal in Douglas County.
Davis Creek Pond at Davis Creek Park in Washoe Valley.
Paradise Pond in Northern Reno/Sparks.
Wilson Common Pond in Washoe Valley.
California:
The East Carson River near Markleeville.
The West Carson River near Woodfords.
Davis Lake near Portola.
Donner Lake near Truckee.
Indian Creek Reservoir between Woodfords and Markleeville.
The lakes of the June Lake Loop.
Red Lake, Caples Lake and Silver Lake, all near Kit Carson Pass.
