Gerald "Jerry" Rutherford, 67, died May 26, 2005, in Santa Rosa, Calif., after a prolonged respiratory illness. He was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Oakland, Calif.
Mr. Rutherford was a resident of the Carson City area for many years, and was a cook for most of those years.
The last few years, he was a bartender at Jack's Bar and the Horseshoe Club.
He spent the last few years in Santa Rosa enjoying his nieces' and nephews' ballgames and playing the occasional poker game.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Among his survivors are a former wife, children, grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews in the Bay area, Carson City and Oregon.
