Services for Emily Jean Nix, 70, a 23-year resident of Carson City, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Mrs. Nix died June 8, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
She was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., to Joseph and Emily Clover Griffin.
She married James W. Nix in El Monte, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City she lived in San Jose, Calif.
Mrs. Nix finished high school and completed four years of college. She was an accountant.
Mrs. Nix was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Community and the Queen Angels of Riverside, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 6, 1995, in Carson City and her son, William J., on May 4, 1992, in Corona, Calif.
Among her survivors are her children, Robert Nix of Reno, Mike Nix of Fairfield, Calif., Kathy Pineda and Beth Nix, both of Carson City and Carol Ryan of Hudson, Fla.; sisters Betty Griffin and Katherine Griffin, both of Fullerton, Calif., Sue Griffin of Irvine, Calif., and Pat Sontag of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
