A funeral for Marlene Smokey Wahpepah, 67, a lifetime Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's.
Mrs. Wahpepah died June 11, 2005, at home. She was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Stewart to Huntington and Helen Miller Smokey.
She was past vice president of her senior class at Douglas High School.
Mrs. Wahpepah was a processing technician.
She was an avid bowler. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, the outdoors and she celebrated her American Indian heritage throughout her life.
Among her survivors are her daughter, D'Ann Wahpepah, son, Troy Wahpepah and grandchildren Sabre Helle, Kahlia Wahpepah, D'Anna Collins, Izaiah Collins and Jesse Wahpepah, all of Carson City; aunts Geraldine Collett of Carson City and JoAnn Martinez of Gardnerville; mother, Helen Smokey Williams of Schurz; sisters Loni Wahweah of Schurz, Betty Ann Smokey Flint of Gardnerville and Claudia Nez and Sharon Henry, both of Schurz; brothers Lyle Williams, Darrell Smokey and Willis Smokey, all of Schurz, Fritz Smokey of Gardnerville and Wayne Williams of Schurz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
