Fire crews plan to continue securing the perimeter and mopping up the interior of the Truck fire today. The fire scorched 85 acres of grass and light brush south of Virginia City on Thursday.
The human-caused fire started at about 1:30 p.m. near Highway 341, the truck route. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
According to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center in Minden, there are no hotspots near the perimeter of the fire.
Mop-up and patrol operations will continue throughout the day. The dispatch center says the fire cooled significantly overnight and is mostly cold this morning.
Two engines, one hand crew for a total of 30 personnel remain on scene. No structures were lost and no injuries have been reported.
