Tyler Nolan drove home the winning run with an RBI double to give the Carson National 11-12-year-old Hooligans an 8-7 win in their opener of the district Little League tournament on Thursday at Edmonds Park.


Taylor Swanson was hit by a pitch and scored the game-winner on Nolan's double. Mitch Parra was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and striking out 11.

Nolan was 2-for-2, Luke Barulich and Willie McDonald each had two hits and Parra, Nathan Landes and Ricardo Mata all added a hit for Carson National.


HOOLIGANS


Sparks Centennial 7, Carson American 0

Billy Canfield doubled and David Feltner and Matt Cooper each added a hit in the loss for Carson American.


RENEGADES

SOUTH TAHOE 8, CARSON NATIONAL 7


Salvador Mata had three hits and an RBI and Jacob McClelland had two hits, including a double, but it wasn't enough for the Carson National 9-10s. Hunter Morgan had two hits and three RBI for South Tahoe.


Today, the Carson American Renegades will play at 5:30 p.m. against Reno Continental. On Saturday, the Carson National Hooligans will play at 1:30 p.m. against Carson Valley, the Carson American Hooligans will play at 4 p.m. against Reno Continental and the Carson National Renegades will play Reno American West at 1:30. The Carson American Renegades will also play at 11 a.m. Saturday against Carson Valley.
