A funeral for Helen M. Williams, 86, a lifetime Schurz resident, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Walton's.
She died June 26, 2005, in Reno. She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Lake Tahoe to Charlie and Rubell Miller.
Mrs. Williams was the head cook at Schurz Elementary School for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Schurz United Methodist Church and a past member of the Nevada/California Division of United Methodist Conference Board. She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie, in 1999 and daughters Marlene Wahpeah, Darlene Williams and Christine Lofland.
Among her survivors are her sons Fritz Smokey of Gardnerville, Willis Smokey of Fallon and Darrell Smokey, Lyle Williams and Wayne Williams, all of Schurz; daughters Betty S. Flint of Gardnerville and Claudea Nez, Sharon Henry and Loni Williams, all of Schurz; sisters Ruth Sanchez of Carson City and Roberta Phoenix of Sutcliffe; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
Burial will be at the Woodford's Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
