The Carson Sharks 10 and under softball team won its third straight tournament this past weekend in the Lassen Summer Slam in Susanville, Calif.
The team won the All-Star Tournament attended by 32 Regional Tournament and All-Star teams with a record of 5-1 record, beating the Fallon Elite 9-7 in eight innings in the championship game.
Eight teams competed in the 10 and under bracket, coming from Reno, Carson City, Fallon, Sparks and Susanville. On Saturday Carson beat the Sparks Heat 9-3, followed with a loss to the Fallon Elite 4-3.
Saturday's two pool play games resulted in a No. 4 seed for Sunday's single elimination play and the first of four games to play, beginning at 8 a.m. On Sunday, Carson beat the Reno Predators Blue 10-3, the Lassen All-Stars 4-3, and the Reno Heat 9-4.
In the championship game against Fallon, Carson fell behind 5-1, but rallied to tie the score 6-6 to force extra innings. Carson went on to scored three runs in the top of the eighth and held on for the win.
