Construction continues on Casino Fandango's $4 million parking garage south of the casino.
Fandango General Manager Steve Forester said customers can park in the employee parking lot until the garage is complete, which should be by the end of September.
"This increases our parking to over 1,000 spots with over 400 covered parking. It'll be great in winter or summer."
The casino has 631 parking spaces. Wednesday through Sunday, it rents spaces from J.C. Penney, which is across the street, for employee parking. Forester said this frees up space near the casino for customers. A shuttle brings employees from the J.C. Penney parking lot. Customers can also use free valet parking.
Plans also include building two 22,165-square-foot hotels south of the casino.
According to plans submitted to the city, the parking garage will be 132,840 square feet, and the two hotels will contain 24 suites.
"Once the garage is done, we'll start looking at other things, but the garage has to get done first," Forester said.
Casino Fandango is at 3800 S. Carson St.
