Three area softball organizations have teams entered into this weekend's NSA State Championships at Edmonds Sports Complex and Centennial Park, beginning today.
Competition will be held in 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under and 16-and-under. The tournament format is double elimination.
In 10-and-under, the Carson Sharks drew a first-round bye and will play the D/V Dynamite-Rail City Smoke winner at 2 p.m. at Edmonds. The Predators will face the Carson Valley Hot Shots in a first-round game at 4 p.m., also at Edmonds.
In 12-and-under A play, the Carson Valley Hurricanes will play the Reno Heat at 10 a.m. at Centennial. There are just four teams in this bracket. In the B bracket, the Carson Sharks play the Las Vegas Bobcats at 10 a.m. at Edmonds.
In the four-team 14-and-under A bracket, the Carson Valley Hurricanes play the Nevada Lightning Blue team at 8 a.m. at Centennial. The Carson Sharks drew a first-round bye in the six-team B bracket, and will play either the Fallon Rockets or Lassen Kaos at noon at Centennial.
In the 16-and-under B bracket, the Carson Valley Hot Shots will play the D/V Vaqueros at 8 a.m. at Edmonds.
