Douglas High's Keston Denny captured fourth-place in bull riding on Saturday during the Pahrump Valley High School Rodeo.
Denny, a senior who competes for the Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club, posted a score of 61 to place fourth in Saturday's event behind Curry Fielder of Battle Mountain (68), Dustin Tibbits of Pahrump (67) and Chad Steele of Alamo (65). Denny, who didn't place on Sunday, was second in the state bullriding standings coming into the weekend.
Dylan Johnson, who played for Yerington High's boys basketball team at the 3A state tournament one week before in Las Vegas, combined with Fallon's Kassi Venturacci to win the team roping on Saturday. Their time of 7.24 seconds was two seconds ahead of second-place.
Steele and Venturacci finished the weekend with the All-Around Cowboy and Cowgirl awards.
