Howard E. Solberg, 93, a Gardnerville resident for the past four years, died Feb. 27, 2005, at Merrill Gardens in Gardnerville. He was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Cogsell, N.D., to Albert and Eva Solberg.
He moved to Montana, then spent most of his youth and adult life in Multnomah County, Ore.
He married Marguerite Donaldson Oct. 17, 1936, in Portland, Ore.
Mr. Solberg worked for 20 years in meat wholesaling and was owner of A.A. Welch Meat Company. He was an active lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 28, 2000, in Portland and brother Albert in 2004 in Portland.
Among his survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Edward Keller of Minden; niece, Darlene Flenzing and nephews Brian, Patric and Gregory Donaldson.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland.
He was remembered at the 10:45 service March 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity of choice.
