A state worker from Carson City was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl between 1996 and 1998.
Harold Germaine Knox, 51, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. on a felony warrant at his Musser Street office with the Department of Administration Purchasing Division.
According to court records, Knox allegedly sexually assaulted the girl between January 1996 and December 1998 at his Gardengate Way home. He is charged with one count of sexual assault of a child under the age of 16 and one count of lewdness with a child under the age of 14. The counts allegedly stem from assaults on the same victim from the time she was 12 to 14 years old.
The case was initially reported to Carson City investigators about two years ago. It was revisited, said Detective Dena Lacy, when the victim's younger sister came forward with similar allegations.
Knox is being held in the Carson City Jail on $50,000 bail.
