Women's History Month at museum
The Nevada State Museum honors Women's History Month and celebrates St. Patrick's Day with a free public reception in the museum's north building from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The celebration includes a book signing featuring contemporary women writers, a walk through the "Under One Sky Native American" heritage exhibit, and display of vintage women's clothing from the museum's Marjorie Russell Clothing and Textile Research Center. Naturally, "green" refreshments and appetizers are on the menu.

Pasta and pizza party honors St. Joseph's
The St. Benedict Society is celebrating St. Joseph's Day on Friday with pasta, pizza, salad, garlic bread and desserts and a cash raffle.
There will be three seating times; 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Cost is $12, couples are $20, children 5 to 12 years are $7 and children under 5 are free.
Proceeds benefit the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund. Tickets may be purchases at the office or sold at the door.

Senior Center offers sweets for Easter
The Carson City Senior Citizens Center Gift Shop is offering a wide selection of See's Candy for Easter.
A new shipment has arrived which includes 1- and 2-pound boxes; more than 1,600 pounds of chocolate is available. The center is at 911 Beverly Drive.

Fly with the Young Eagles
The Carson City Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association will kick off the Young Eagle 2005 program with a breakfast and aircraft display Saturday at the Carson City Airport.
Youth ages 8-17 are welcome for free, to have breakfast at 8 a.m., look at the aircraft and take their first flight at the airport. Those attending are asked to call for reservations.
