Arlene M. Bracken, 78, a Dayton resident for the past year, died Feb. 8, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born June 17, 1926, in Rochester, N.Y., to Stanley and Celia Gerdus.
She married Thomas F. Bracken Sept. 4, 1948, in Rochester, N.Y.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in Carson City.
Mrs. Bracken was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony's Guild, St. Kilian Church in Mission Viejo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by brothers Donald Gerdus and cousin James Orbanek. Her husband, Thomas, died March 3.
Survivors include sons Tim of Carson City, Frank of Dayton, Brian of Carson City and Randy of Green Valley Lake, Calif.; four grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
She will be cremated and her ashes placed with her husband's in the memorial wall at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
