Thomas F. Bracken, 81, a Dayton resident for the past year, died March 3, 2005, at his home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Oswego, N.Y., to Francis and Mary Bracken.
He married Arlene M. Sept. 4, 1048, in Rochester, N.Y.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Carson City.
Mr. Bracken was purchasing manager for Cetec Benmar in Santa Ana, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the First Infantry Division in North Africa, Sicily, Normandy at Omaha Beach on D-Day and France and Germany and received three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene on Feb. 8, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital; sister Jean Moran and brother, Francis H. "Pete."
Among his survivors are sons Tim of Carson City, Frank of Dayton, Brian of Carson City and Randy of Green Valley Lake, Calif.; sisters Anna Mae Brackin and Mary Colome; four grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
He will be cremated and his ashes placed with his wife's in the memorial wall at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
