The Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team optioned Carson High graduate Darrell Rasner to their Double A affiliate in Harrisburg, Pa., of the Eastern League on Wednesday.
Rasner, a 1999 CHS graduate, was considered a long shot to make the opening day squad after being placed on the team's 40-man roster last fall and was expected to be optioned to Double A. Rasner, a right-handed pitcher, allowed one earned run, a home run, through four innings in three relief appearances during this past Spring Training.
Meanwhile 1996 CHS graduate Dusty Bergman saw action for the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday in a 4-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Bergman allowed one earned run and struck out one in one inning of work.
