Burton Clyde "Monty" Spurlock Jr., 66, a Carson City resident for the past six years, died March 19, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Bellingham, Wash., to Burton Clyde and Ann Hoss Spurlock.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in El Segundo, Calif.
He married Rose Ajemian.
Mr. Spurlock worked as an aircraft controller and was a pilot for Continental Airlines. He was a member of Top Gun.
He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, and he was a Vietnam veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughter, Jennifer Carlson of Evansville, Ind.; mother, sister Sue Harvey and brother Tony Valdez, all of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Annika, Ture and Milena; nieces Zack and Teri; and uncle and aunt Bill Hoss and Evelyn Hoss.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
